Wow! We Have Shade!!!

Two years ago for Micah's birthday and Mother's Day, my Dad bought and planted Micah two Maple trees in the backyard. They are small but beautiful, especially in the Fall when the 20 or so leaves turn a firey orange-red.

However, this evening when Micah was out playing in the yard with the children I noticed for the first time that the trees are providing shade!!! Real, true shade. For all of you who have lived at 300 4th St at some time in your life, I realize the picture is a paltry and pathetic comparison to the shade you are accustomed to, but it was enough to cover a blanket on the ground. Out here on developed former corn fields, that is real progress!
